Jack Ray “Jay” Clement II, 50, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was born on October 27, 1973, in Forsyth County, N.C., to the late Jack and Barbara Boyd Clement.

After graduating from JH Rose High School in Greenville, N.C., Jay received his bachelor’s degree in construction management from East Carolina University. He had been employed with Lowe’s Home Improvement since 1993. He started working in the store in lawn and garden and then he transitioned to construction once he graduated. He traveled all over the U.S. building stores for Lowe’s. He loved everything about construction. Jay eventually became a Senior Director of Real Estate, Construction & Retail Facility Management. In his spare time, he spent many hours working with the Boy Scouts of America and served as a Scout Master in both Troop 301 and Troop 335. He encouraged his two sons and was so proud that each of them achieved the highest Boy Scout honor, the Eagle Scout Award. He had recently extended his service in the Scouts to include properties chair and accreditation of other camps. He also served as the president of the HOA and the ARC committee in his neighborhood. He loved the outdoors; camping, fishing, hunting, scuba diving, golfing, skiing and going to car shows with his boys. Jay was good at everything. He enjoyed traveling, riding dirt bikes, and was an avid Carolina Panthers fan. He was the most dedicated husband and father.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Jean Clement.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie House Clement; sons, Jack R. Clement III and Grant A. Clement; uncles, Glenn Boyd and wife Carolyn and Bobby Boyd and wife Brenda; and many lifelong friends.

Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service in the Heritage House.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scouts Wahissa Lodge #118, 266 Raven Knob Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to the Lowe’s Foundation.
