Martyne White Sheline, 93, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Cadence Mooresville.
She was born on September 18, 1931 in Fielden, Ky. She was the youngest child of William Henry White and Barbara Lyon White. The family moved to Jackson County, Ohio, in 1936, where she started school and graduated from Jackson High School.
Martyne married Rodney Sheline, and they had one son, Steve. In the early 50s the Shelines moved to Washington Court House, Ohio, where Martyne worked for many years as Clerk of Courts. After that they lived in Fairmount, W.Va., before settling in the Charlotte, N.C., area, where Martyne managed Casual Corner shops and enjoyed many friendships. She moved to the Mooresville area to be near her son, and enjoyed helping with her young granddaughter, Stephanie.
It was at St Alban’s Episcopal Church that she met her second husband, Anthony (Tony) Miltich. They had almost ten happy years cooking and dancing together until his death in 2019. After that she lived with her son.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Tamara Sheline, and granddaughter Stephanie Sheline of Mooresville. She will be missed by Michael and Ann Miltich and the Miltich family, as well as by nieces and nephew, Paulette Higginbotham Boling (Fred), and Geoffrey Higginbotham (Carol), and Susan Higginbotham, who shared with her many holidays and visits, and by Fern Arnold, Elwood Pennington (Delores), William White, and Nancy White Davis.
She was predeceased by her son, Steve, and siblings, Clyde White, Rickie Pennington, Thelma Thompson, Hester Dummitt, Elsie Dummitt, and Evelyn Fouch, and special sister Itle Higginbotham.
There will be no formal service at this time. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
