If you love gospel music, the Circle of Giving has planned an event that you will not want to miss.
The 2025 Gospel’s Finest All-Stars competition is scheduled for Sunday, April 6, at Mac Gray Auditorium on the campus of Statesville High School
Doors open at 3 p.m. with food and vendors on site. The singing starts at 4 p.m.
Six talented contestants — Tamra Bradshaw, Courtney Chay, Natasha Sims-Hunter, Mia Medlock, Brittany Campbell, and Genetta Dobbins — are competing for a $2,000 first prize.
All of the contestants are previous winners from past competitions.
“This is really a star-studded event,“ Circle of Giving member Barbara Davidson said.
Tickets are $30 at the door, and $25 in advance. All proceeds will help fund the Circle of Giving’s high school scholarships.
If a recent rehearsal at Vision Outreach Ministry is an indication, it’s going to be an epic show.
Tamra Bradshaw showcased her powerful voice as she sang, “But He cares and He knows, He’s been with you.“
Although the back-up signers reassured her about the quality of her her vocals, she wasn’t 100 percent sure what song she would perform in Sunday’s competition.
“I don’t worry because God‘s got it all in control,“ she said.
Meanwhile, Courtney Chay was confident in her song choice and optimistic about the show.
“I’m singing ‘The Heavens are Telling,’ ” she said. “I’m excited.“
Mia Medlock was ultra confident about her decision to to sing a song she wrote, “Pray Until Something Happens.“
“It’s truly a passion of mine and a personal testimony,“ she explained. “You got to trust and believe.“
Sacred Background Vocals and Envision Praise & Worship will also perform at the event. Dr. O Deshea Cuthrell and Nickey Mott will serve as emcees for the event. Judges include De Varius Hughes, Connie Birth and Chad Forte.
May Gray Auditorium is located at 474 N. Center Street in Statesville.
