Statesville police officers have apprehended two suspects in an armed robbery and are asking the public to help locate a third suspect.
According to an SPD news release, officers and investigators responded to the scene of an armed robbery about 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 16. No additional details of the robbery were provided.
After arriving on scene and gathering information, investigators were able to positively identify all three suspects involved in the armed robbery, according to the news release.
Warrants were obtained for the arrest of Statesville residents Brendon Gerald Steele Jr., 21, and Cashon Tyron Tucker, 19, for armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, police said. An arrest warrant for conspiracy to commit armed robbery was also obtained for a 17-year-old juvenile male, according to the news release.
SPD investigators and patrol officers located the juvenile at his residence Thursday night, police said. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Alexander Juvenile Detention Center.
While taking the juvenile into custody, investigators located a Highpoint 9 mm semi-automatic rifle that had been reported stolen from a residential break-in on Hawthorne Drive in Statesville on April 7, police said. Also located was an Honor Guard 9mm semi-automatic handgun that was reported stolen in August 2019 during a break-in at Bullseye Pawn Shop on West Front Street in Statesville, according to the news release. SPD investigators planned to obtain a juvenile petition for possession of stolen firearms on Friday.
Investigators located Steele at a residence on West Front Street, where he was taken into custody without incident. His bond was set at $150,000.
