Lona Mae McCrackin Jordan, 77, of Jonesville, N.C., passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.
Lona was born December 4, 1947, in Clarksville, Ga., to the late Patrick McCrackin and Icey McCrackin. On January 8, 1972, she married Rev. Samuel Ray Jordan, who passed after almost 50 years of marriage.
Lona attended Hiddenite High School and worked as a seamstress. She was a member of New Life Community Baptist Church for 26 years. She served as a pastor’s wife for 22 years and a military wife for 28 years.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lona was preceded in death by her son Samuel Jordan Jr.; daughter-in-law, Angie Jordan; two sisters; and two brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tammy Redmond (Jonathan) of Jonesville; son, Richard Jordan of Hiddenite; grandsons, David Hedrick (Delibrate) and Michael Hedrick (Laci) of Jonesville, and Nick Jordan and Nathan Jordan of Hiddenite; six great-grandchildren, Aaron, Bryson, Josh, and Ezekiel Hedrick, and Kylee and Rowan Jordan; sister-in-law, Kaye Miller (Keith); brothers, Burns McCrackin and Sylva “Mr. Mack” McCrackin; and special friend of over 40 years, Georgina Grant.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at New Life Community Baptist Church with Pastor Lowman and Rev. Steve Horton. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Bright Light Baptist Church Cemetery.
