A doctor employed by the Wake Forest University School of Medicine who was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor in Alexander County earlier this month now faces charges in Iredell County.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Richard Dean Jordan, 31, of Isaac Creek Drive, Hickory, in a news release Tuesday.
The ICSO Special Victims Unit opened an investigation on Monday, April 7, after being notified by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office about that agencies an ongoing investigation into Jordan, Campbell said. Jordan is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and felony secret peeping in Alexander County. He received a $270,000 bond on those charges.
Based upon the evidence gathered through the investigation, ACSO investigators believed Jordan may have committed crimes in Iredell County as well, according to the news release.
ICSO Special Victims Unit Detective C. James spoke with ACSO investigators and reviewed evidence collected in this portion of the investigation. He determined that Jordan had placed a hidden camera in the bathroom of a family member’s home in Iredell County, according to the news release.
Detective James obtained Felony Arrest Warrants charging Jordan with seven counts of Felony Secret Peeping.
Jordan, who was already in custody in Alexander County on charges stemming from their investigation, was served with the Iredell County arrest warrants. An Alexander County issued a $70,000 secured bond on these new charges.
Jordan received his license to practice medicine in 2023 and completed his residency in pathology in 2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He surrendered his medical license on April 10.
