Freda Marlene Conlon Fox, 75, of Hiddenite, N.C., passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, N.C. Freda was born in Anderson, S.C., on February 2, 1950, to the late Wheeler “Nick” Nicholson and Peggy Haulbrooks Calabrese. She had a love for animals and a passion for nursing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Conlon.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years, William M Fox of the home; two sons, Sean Conlon and wife Kristen of Tyler, Texas, and Kevin Conlon of Hiddenite; one daughter, Carla Conlon Geer (Jeff Scercy) of Landis; one sister, Debbie Northcraft of Toronto, Ohio; five grandchildren, Blake Alexander Conlon of Thomasville, Emily Kelleher of Massachusetts, Amanda Conlon of Tyler, Texas, Ashley Conlon of Tyler, Texas, Alyssa Conlon of Tyler, Texas, and one niece and numerous nephews and cousins. Her dogs Riley and Chloe and cat Tom also survive.

The family would like to recognize and thank Freda’s caregivers Sherri Clanton and her CNA Nina from Hospice. She will be laid to rest in Ohio.
