Dorothy Leona Absher Dalton, 75, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at her residence.

Dorothy was born February 19, 1950, in Richmond, Va., to the late Daniel Lee Absher and Edith Gertrude White Absher. She worked as a CNA for many years. She attended New Bethany Baptist Church, and she enjoyed crocheting, watching Westerns, and spending time with her grandkids. She dearly loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wayne Dalton; grandson, Kurt Dalton; great-granddaughter, Chloe; two sisters; and a brother,

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Yvonne Renea Dalton, Rita Leona Williams (Alan), Henry Paul Dalton (Michelle), Linda Marie Dalton, and Wayne Alitzer (Cory); 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 18, at New Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m.
