Ella Chafin Sutherland, 68, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her home. She was born October 5, 1956, in Lebanon, Va., the daughter of the late Arlen Chafin and Mildred White Chafin.

Ella was a nurse for Russell County Medical Center for 20-plus years. She loved playing Bingo and loved her family, especially her grandbabies. She was a very caring, loving, and social person.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Keen; and brothers, Mike, Donald, and Thurman.

Those left to cherish and honor Ella’s memories include her daughters, Rebecca Rodrigues, and Francisca Cribbs and husband Kane; her son, Carlos Sutherland; her grandchildren, Brandon Hernandez, and Katelyn Sutherland and husband Jose; and several great-grandchildren, many friends and extended family.
