Frederick Mohrmann Hibbert Jr., a beloved member of the Mooresville community, passed away on April 20, 2025, at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center.
He was born on September 5, 1931, in Yonkers, N.Y., to the late Frederick Mohrmann Hibbert Sr. and Rose Rother Hibbert. Fred moved to North Carolina in 1986 and embraced the warmth of the community and the splendor of the outdoors.
A proud veteran, Fred served honorably in the United States Navy from March 1951 to March 1955. His professional journey spanned over three decades at Industrial X-Ray Inc. and culminated at Siemens Technology, where he excelled as a Supervisor and Quality Assurance Engineer. His dedication and work ethic were hallmarks of his long career.
In his retirement, Fred found profound joy in tending to his yard and immersing himself in the beauty of nature. As he worked outdoors, the soothing sounds of talk radio filled the air, mirroring his curious mind and love for learning. An avid traveler, Fred ventured to all 50 states and explored 28 foreign countries, creating cherished memories both personally and professionally.
Music was another passion, with both classical and jazz resonating in his heart. He found solace in boating, fishing, and hunting, but his greatest love of all was for his family. In 2003, he met and married Fei, whom he often called the “Love of his life.” Their companionship filled his later years with love and laughter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lydia; and brothers, Russell and Art.
Fred leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Fei Hibbert; sisters, Eleanor and Joan; and numerous nieces and nephews, Missy, Christine, Marjorie, Bob, John, and Ronny. He is also survived by three children from a previous marriage, Janet, Dee, and Michael, who blessed him with a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Fred’s life was a testament to resilience and devotion, and he held steadfast to his faith until God called him home on Easter Sunday 2025. His family invites you to celebrate his remarkable life and the lasting impact he had on their hearts.
