Douglas Milton Peet, 68, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on July 31, 1956, to the late Walker Robert Peet and Mildred Viola Turner Peet. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Oak Forest Health Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Peet, Wade Peet, John Marvin Turner, Donald Wayne Peet, and Richard Peet; one sister, Daphne Peet; one niece, Mildred Peet; and one brother-in-law, Eddie Parks.
Douglas worked for Statesville Roofing Company for many years. He loved race cars, working puzzle books, riding his lawnmower, and fishing. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys, and his favorite colors were Carolina Blue and Green. Douglas will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish the memories of his life, one daughter, April (Joshua) Nichols; one brother, Walker (Diedra) Peet; five sisters, Estella (Johnny) Dalton, Judy Parks, Reatha Peet, Darcy Peet, and Della Peet; three grandchildren, LaDonta Harris, Ameilya Nichols, and Joshua Nichols Jr.; a best friend, Rick Nichols; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rutledge and Bigham on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Deacon Wesley Davis will deliver the eulogy and Rev. Stanley Turner will officiate.
