Vivian Shanae King, affectionately called “NaeNae,” was born in Iredell County on February 16, 1979, and was the daughter of Kathy King Hanks and the late Herman Bines. She departed this life on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at her home.
She attended the Iredell County Schools and Whole Truth Church. She was a loving companion, mother, grandmother and friend.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, in addition to her mother, Kathy King (Spencer) Hanks, her husband, Freddie Lee Joyner of the home; two daughters, Kaleyah King and K’Naria King, both of the home; two children she helped raise, Paul Cauthen and Jaden Cowan, both of Statesville; her step-children, Greg Burnes and Ashley Burnes; one grandchild, Lucas Noel Danell King of the home; her siblings, Desheika King and Herman Bines, both of Statesville; her foster siblings, DeAnka McDonald, Tiffany Washington, Clontae Hanks, Janell McDonald and Tashisha McDonald; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation. Unfortunately, with the COVID-19 crisis, Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, has been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services. You can only enter the funeral with a funeral pass, which will be given to the family.
