Rev. David Alan McCauley, 65, of Lynchburg, Va., and Statesville, N.C., passed away at his home on July 9, 2020. David was born and raised in Lynchburg on October 10, 1954. He was the son of the late Wilson Clarence McCauley and the late Teacie Bell McCauley, and the brother of the late Rev. Wayne Wilson McCauley. He leaves his memory to be cherished by his aunt Joyce Carwile of Lynchburg, his niece Wendy McCauley of Roanoke, Va., his nephew Shawn McCauley of Fayetteville, W.Va., and his sister-in-law Charlotte McCauley of Roanoke.
His memory will also live on in the hearts of those he served as pastor at numerous Methodist churches, including his most recent congregation at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Statesville.
A memorial service at David’s church and a private family graveside service will be held at some point in the future at an appropriate time.
