A Statesville man faces multiple felony charges following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Sherriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of James Fredrick Shuford, 35, in a news release on Monday morning.
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, October 21, after ICSO narcotics investigators, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant on Miller’s residence at 349 South Miller Avenue in Statesville.
During the search, investigators located crack cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana inside the home, Campbell said. A firearm, which Shuford was prohibited to possess due to being a convicted felon, was also located, according to the news release.
Shuford was arrested at the scene and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule I controlled substance, felony maintaining a residence for the distribution of controlled substances, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule VI controlled substance, and felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
Magistrate Nethken issued a $50,000 secured bond on these charges.
This investigation was initiated after narcotics investigators received information that Shuford was distributing crack cocaine and other illegal drugs in the area, Campbell said.
