Organizers of the 26th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration in Iredell County have announced plans for a virtual event in January.

The theme for the 2021 celebration is “We Are They.”

On Monday, January 18, the Iredell County MLK Planning Committee will host a virtual celebration on Zoom at 9 a.m.

The guest speaker will be Bishop Shantae Younger, a preacher, teacher and evangelist who serves as the establishmentarian and senior pastor of The Ramp Church International in Lynchburg, Va. He and the church were officially installed in the fall of 2005.

In February 2010, an assembly of the voting members of his denomination voted Bishop-Elect Younger over the One Way Churches International reformation. This election preceded his official consecration to the Bishopric in April 2011.

Beyond the podium, he serves as the Vice Presiding Prelate over the One Way Churches International reformation and locally serves as director of One Voice an ecumenical group of clergy from the Baptist, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Episcopal, and Catholic denominations.

Bishop Younger is known for his energetic preaching style and prophetic anointing, but his
heart’s desire is seeing God get all the glory out of his life because it an honor for him to still be
used as God’s vessel.
