Mr. Clifford Mayfield Jr., 72, of Statesville, N.C., was born in Iredell County on April 9, 1948, and was the son of the late Clifford Mayfield Sr. and Ethel Summers Mayfield. He departed this life on Friday, December 11, 2020.
He was a graduate of Unity High School and attended Catawba Valley Community College. He was a member of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church at an early age, where he was a member of the C.C. Inspirational Choir. Prior to his death he was attending St. James Baptist Church in Troutman. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Clark Swabel Industries as a supervisor. His hobbies and passions included cars, drag racing, fishing and repairing lawn equipment. He was married to Beatrice Feimster Mayfield, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Beatrice Mayfield, he leaves to cherish the memories of his life his son, Clifton Gerrod (Bea) Mayfield Sr. of Mooresville; grandchildren, Clifton G. Mayfield II, Dravey Tanner Mayfield Sr., Gregory T. Eldridge, Chadwich Eldridge, Alexis J. Mayfield, Jasmine M. Mayfield and Bea Mayfield; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church, Statesville. Reverend Sheila Mayfield Will Officiate.
There will be no public visitation. Unfortunately, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, has been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services. You can only enter the funeral with a funeral pass, which will be given to the family.
