Sammy Lee McDowell, 75, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at his residence. He was born on September 25, 1945 in High Point, N.C., to the late Samuel and Georgia Roberts McDowell.

Mr. McDowell was a veteran serving in the US Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Lee McDowell; and a brother, Edgar McDowell.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey McDowell and wife Robynn; grandsons, Scott, Zachery, and Cody McDowell; step children in the High Point area; and step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of his life will be held in the near future.
