Ruth Jean Cates Robinson, 89, of Statesville, N.C., passed away at Gordon Hospice House on Sunday, January 17, 2021. She was born March 3, 1931, to the late Walter Cates and Lillian Hire Cates in Rice County, Minn. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Rayfield Raymond Robinson, and her sister, Helen Kelsey.

She enjoyed baking and puzzles, was also a true fan of NASCAR and a lifetime member of the VFW.

Survivors include a son, Rodney Robinson and wife Margit of Statesville, and one sister, Pat Stoeckel Faribault, Minn.; along with three grandchildren, Richard Robinson and wife Anne, Andrew Robinson and wife Michaela, and Jake Robinson and wife Sara; four great grandchildren, Colton, Myla, Elena and Lilah Robinson; four nieces and one nephew.

Services will be at a later date.
