John Clay “JC” Wilson, 90, of Statesville, N.C., died Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Accordius Health of Statesville. He was born in Iredell County on October 26, 1930, to the late Clay Harrington and Clyde Gibson Wilson. He was married on July 5, 1955, to Voda Waugh Wilson, who died on March 26, 2020.
He attended Scotts High School and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He served our country with the U.S. Army 40th Division in Korea from 1952 to 1953. He enjoyed his grandchildren, growing tomatoes, working crossword puzzles and sunny days.
Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Patti McLaughlin (John), Becky Cornett (Steve), and Amy Caldwell (Jeff); six grandchildren, John McLaughlin, Elly Pendergrass (Brett), Ashley Cornett (Jason), Landon Cornett, Brandon Caldwell (Tiffany), and Clayton Caldwell; two great-grandchildren, Raegan Caldwell and Ella Caldwell; and a sister, Louise Henry.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, there will be no formal services held.
