Bobby Gene Honeycutt, 71, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. He was born on May 10, 1949, in Mooresville to the late Eugene and Mattie Christenbury Honeycutt.
Bobby loved his career as a barber. He enjoyed going to car shows, bowling, rodeos and watching his son Cory rope, and going out to eat with all his friends. Bobby was a true prankster, loved to talk, and hardly ever met a stranger. He loved his family and spending time with them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Honeycutt; and sister, Tully Comer.
He is survived by his children, Cory Honeycutt and Kelly Honeycutt; grandson, Christian Honeycutt; fiancee, Mary Ellen Cook; nephew, Jeffrey Comer; and his beloved fur babies, M.J. and Sage.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. with a service following at 3 p.m. at Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the Honeycutt family. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
I was genuinely saddened to read of Bobby’s passing. In the few times I encountered him since graduation, he was as friendly and smiling as always. May our Lord be with the family during this time of loss and grief.
Met Bobby when I was visiting my Son and his Family. Loved to visit him and his Horse, Donkey (Ginny), and Goat. Prayers for his Son, Family & Friends.
