Wayne Pressley Weston, 74, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, N.C. Born December 22, 1946, in Iredell County, N.C., he was the son of the late Paul B. Weston and Rosetta Benfield Weston.

Mr. Weston was a Lance Cpl. in the United States Marine Corps. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Rifle Marksmanship Badge, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He retired from Mocaro Textiles as a supervisor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae “Snookie” Fox Weston; his sister, Doris Weston Prevette; and his brother, Paul Lambert.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Anthony Weston and his wife Mandy; grandchildren, Chris Weston, Zachary Weston, Elizabeth Weston, Shannon Weston and Amy Shoemaker; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Faith Weston; sister, Gail Weston; brothers, Donald “Duck” Weston, Gary Weston and his wife Debbie, Tony Weston and his wife Sandee, and Billy Owings and his wife Melody; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Lambert.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Nicholson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Nicholson Funeral Home with Pastor James Lewis officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Statesville, N.C.
