Mrs. Carolyn Susan Carruth Turner was born in Iredell County on February 12, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Virginia Mae Wood Carruth and J.C. Carruth. She departed this life unexpectedly on Thursday, July 15, 2021. Carolyn was married to Johnny Ray Turner, who preceded her in death.

She worked in retail at T.J. Maxx. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and friend.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life two children, John Christopher Sturdivant of Greensboro and April Carruth of Charlotte; grandchildren; Dietrich Rice and John Christopher Sturdivant Jr. ; three sisters, Virginia Roberts, Judy Hunter and Sandra Carruth; three brothers, Russell Carruth, James Carruth and Danny Carruth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary. Members of the family will receive friends from 3 until 3:30 p.m. Burial to follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
