Michael Dwayne Ward Sr., 59, of Statesville N.C., passed away December 4,2021, at his home after an extended illness. He was born in Iredell County on May 31,1962, to the late Howard Franklin Ward and Garnell Hardiman Ward Weatherman.

Survivors include his fiancée, Lisa Martin of the home; stepmother, Janet Ward of Statesville; two sons, Brandon Ward and Michael Dwayne Ward Jr.; one stepdaughter, Stephanie Slane; two brothers, Franklin Ward and wife Caroline of Statesville, and Curtis Ward of Statesville; two sisters, Angie Hartness and husband Bob of Statesville, and Tammy Fowler and husband Blain; two grandchildren, Oliver Ward and Draven Slane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
