Harold “Hal” Lamarr Dagenhart, 55, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 24, 2021. Hal was born October 20, 1966, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Charles Franklin “ Shorty” Dagenhart and Geraldine “Gerry” Bost Dagenhart of Statesville.
Hal was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and Hobgood Gun Club.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 27 years Shannon Long Dagenhart of the home; one son, Justin Dagenhart of the home; and one daughter Jennifer Dagenhart of the home. Also surviving are three brothers, Chuck Dagenhart ( Betsy) of Kernersville, Bobby Dagenhart ( Barbara) of Stony Point, and Jeff Dagenhart of Stony Point; aunt and uncle, David and Martha Pope; one great aunt, Dorothy Tevepaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Hal was also survived by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Ginger Long; brother-in-law Dennis long; and sister-in-law Michelle Kivette.
A Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m, on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Bethel UMC. Pastor Anne Tavenner will officiate. Family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, before service at the church.

I’m so sorry to hear of Hal’s passing!!! I enjoyed getting to know Hal at the west Iredell pool ! My thoughts and prayers go out to Shannon Jennifer and Justin!! I once asked why so many young people went to Heaven so early . Preacher told me wouldn’t Heaven be boring with just old people!! Rest In Peace my friend !!!
So sad to read this . Hal was a good and funny man . Grew up knowing Hal as a friend of the family . So sorry for your loss Shannon and family .
