Jimmy Darrel Morton, 74, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on January 4, 2022, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 14, 1947, in Albemarle, N.C., to the late Ulysses Grant Morton and Colon Eudy Morton.
Mr. Morton was formerly employed with Wincup Plastics. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He was a busy but great cook and was known to tell a story or two.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Cook Morton; and brother, Bob Morton.
He is survived by his daughters, Victoria “Gina” Ledwell and husband Billy, Sherry McLaurin Roberts and husband Jamey; sister, Sharon Ingold and husband Kenny; brothers, Chuck Morton and wife Hilda and Alvie Morton and wife Sue; mother-in-law, Doris Cook; grandchildren, T.J. and Joshua Lucas, Jessica Thomas, and Luke Roberts; great grandchildren, Seth, Sam, Avery, Corbin, and Natalie; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved furbaby, Buster.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 8, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with a service following at 1 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Wood officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
