Citing health concerns due to the recent surge in COVID-19, the Town of Mooresville has canceled the larger indoor events associated with “Vision of a Bigger Dream” planned for January 15 & 17 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Canceled events include the concert planned for January 15 and the walk and brunch scheduled for January 17.

“While we are disappointed, the health of our residents must come first,” town officials said in a statement Friday afternoon.

Town staff are working on “something virtual to commemorate Dr. King.” Details will be released later.

Volunteer opportunity events planned for Serenity House, the Mooresville Christian Mission and the Mooresville Kindness Closet will still be held. More information about those opportunities can be found at https://mooresvillenc.galaxydigital.com.
