Teresa Ellen Atwell, 63, of Hiddenite, N.C., went to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, N.C. She was born March 19, 1958, in Iaeger, W.Va., to the late Buddy Mitchell wife Mattie Roberts Shortridge. Teresa was surrounded by her loved ones and was of the Pentecostal Faith.

In addition to her father and husband Ralph Atwell, she was preceded in death by her nephew, David Muncy, and brother-in-law, John Fisher.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son Eric Atwell and wife Faith, daughter Melissa McCoy and husband Randal; a brother, Kenneth Blankenship and wife Rebecca; two sisters, Mary Ann Fisher and Rita Triplett and husband Jackie; six grandchildren, Kayla Moss and husband Tristan, Ryan Atwell, Sarah Hartline and husband Jon, Alyson Christian Brittany Atwell, and Emily Atwell; five great-grandchildren, Madison Moss, Nevaeh Hartline, Serenity Hartline, Olivia Atwell, and Jonathan Moss; nephews, Roger Muncy and wife Diane, Jackie Triplett Jr., and Kenneth Blankenship III; nieces, Heather Chambers and husband Adam and Samantha Triplett; and a host of others too numerous to name that she loved.

A celebration of life will be conducted at Teresa’s home in Hiddenite at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
