Mrs. Malinda Faye Conner Woods, 70, of Statesville, N.C., was born on April 25, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Mamie Catherine Conner. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Malinda was a graduate of Unity High School, and before her retirement she was employed at Kewaunee Scientific for 32 years. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and loved joking around with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, Robert Conner and John Conner; and by her identical twin sister, Esther Sharpe.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life a son, Jeffery Todd (Erica) Conner of Troutman, N.C.; two daughters, Lori Terrell Conner of Fayetteville, N.C., and Linda Dawn Conner; two brothers, Ronnie Eugene (Betty) Conner of Gastonia, N.C., and Walter Conner of Statesville; three sisters, Kathy Conner of Statesville, “Shay” Conner of Harmony, N.C., and Teresa Redmond of Harmony, N.C.; one daughter-in-law, Traci Conner; two special cousins, Sandra Wellman and Bryant Scott; nineteen grandchildren, Ty’Lisa Monae, Raven Dalton, William Tyrone Lowery Jr., Tacari Clark, Sabrina Gamble, all of whom were raised in the home, Tamera Gamble, Tyreece Bunch, Marcus Phifer, Deven Stewart, R.J. Conner, Morgan Conner, Brittany Morgan, Allison Conner, Jordan Conner, Sarah Springerth, Tarren Griffin, Darren Griffin, Cameron McClain, and Jasmine Hayden; a special great grandchild, Tariq “Butch” Lowery; and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Rutledge & Bigham Mortuary, Statesville. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
