Peggy Jean Compton Lamberth, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Mrs. Lamberth was born in Iredell County on October 5, 1936, to the late Mr. Richard Compton and Mrs. Minnie Daniels Compton.

Peggy was married to George Wesley Lamberth for 53 years before his passing in 2013. Peggy was a member of the Statesville Ladies Firefighter Auxiliary for many years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. One of her greatest joys was doting and caring for her grandchildren.

Mrs. Lamberth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Wesley Lamberth; and her sister, Judy Moody.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny Richardson Lamberth (Sarah) of Charlotte and Wesley Blaine Lamberth (Cherry) of Statesville; brother-in-law, Gary Lamberth (Sheila) of Statesville; three grandchildren, Brenna Lamberth (Luke) of Statesville, Joshua Lamberth (Anna) of Statesville and Kendra Lamberth of Johns Island, S.C.; great grandson, Miller Blaine Lamberth; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will to held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023, at Nicholson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
