Richard Grey Karriker Sr., 81, of Mocksville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023. He was born on August 7, 1941, in Mooresville to the late Ray and Pearl Henry Karriker.
He was in the graduating class of 1959 of Troutman High School. He worked for Burlington and was later the owner of Textile Repair and Foundry in Mooresville. He enjoyed history, genealogy, geography, fishing and playing pool. As a boy, he spent time as a caddie at the Mooresville Golf Course. He was a member of Shearer Presbyterian Church. He loved the Lord and his family. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Christopher Karriker; brothers, William Karriker, Pressley Karriker, Junior McCullen, and Delmer McCullen; and sisters, Sara Harless, Margaret Huffman.
He is survived by children, Sandra Roseman (David) and Richard Grey Karriker, Jr. (Cynthia); brothers, Robert Karriker (Linda), Kermit Karriker, and Jimmy Karriker; grandchildren, Josh, Paul, Anna, Grey, Becca, Ryan; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Shearer Presbyterian Church with Dr. Steve Stout and Rev. Wayne Sloop officiating.
