Lorene Elizabeth McDaniel Reid Reavis, 91, of Statesville, N.C., was born September 11, 1928. Lorene went to her heavenly home on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Iredell Memorial Hospital, Statesville.

Lorene was the daughter of the late Alex Franklin McDaniel and Mary Sides McDaniel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James D Reid; her daughter, Barbara Jean Moore; and her sister, Lucille M Nance.

Lorene is survived by her son, James F. Reid (Shelly); grandsons, Eugene Hobbs (Lelia), Eddie Moore (Dawn), Timmy Moore and Jason Reid; four great-grandchildren, Leanna Moore, Cheyenne Reid, Willis Hobbs and Evan Moore; sister, Barbara M Overcash; her beloved son-in-law, Ralph Moore; and her beloved friend and caregiver, Lester Lambert, along with her pet cat, Baby.

Lorene was a devout Christian who loved the Lord, her family and her church. She enjoyed having fun with her sisters, dancing, traveling and watching country music on Saturday nights. She was very involved with her church until failing health. She will be greatly missed by all.

A service to celebrate the life of Lorene Reavis will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Hillside Baptist Church, 115 Caldwell Farm Lane, Statesville. The family will visit with friends from 1until 2 p.m. at the church. A private burial will follow at a later date.
