Sharon Darlene Prevette Stikeleather, 67, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2023, at her home. Darlene was born December 10, 1955, in Caldwell County to the late Charles Prevette and Madge Shoemaker Prevette.

Darlene was a graduate of North Iredell High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Terry Stikeleather, and they were partners in life for almost 49 years. Darlene loved helping others and that was demonstrated by her career path. She worked for Bayada Health for a number of years, stopping to take care of her husband after his health began to decline. She loved caring for her family and countless patients, always giving from her heart. She was a member of Stony Point United Methodist Church.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Terry Stikeleather of the home; one son, Travis Stikeleather of Stony Point; one daughter, Tara Cunningham of Statesville; one sister, Diane Howe and husband Bob of Rock Hill, S.C.; one niece, Emily Howe of Rock Hill, S.C.; three grandchildren, Jessie Cunningham, Jennifer Cunningham, and Sirus Stikeleather; five great-grandchildren, Levi, Jazmyn, Ember, William, and Daemon; and a number of extended family members.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
