Melissa Lyles, 52, of Statesville, N.C., went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 7, 2023. She was the wife of Mike Lyles and the daughter of the late Tommy Max and Christine Louise Weaver Tedder.

Melissa was a kindergarten teacher at Headwaters Christian Academy and was a member of South River Baptist Church. Melissa was a graduate of Lees-McRae College and Appalachian State University. She loved monogramming, embroidery, going to the beach and seafood. She dearly loved her family.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Mike Lyles; one son, Wynston Lyles; one daughter, Salem-Grace Lyles; one brother, Trenton Tedder; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at South River Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Chris Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one and one-half hours prior to the service from 1 until 2:30 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given to Headwaters Christian Academy, 2659 S. Chipley Ford Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
