Barbara A. Goodrich Korb, 86, was called to her Heavenly home on June 7, 2023, in Novant Huntersville Medical Center, N.C., after a brief illness.

She was born February 13, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Gladys (Stolts) and Chauncey Goodrich. On January 18,1958, Barbara married Norman Zimmerman.

Barbara and Norman had three children, and lived in Clarence Center, N.Y., Garden Grove, Calif., and Alpena, Mich. Norman died on April 22, 1969. On November 29, 1970, Barbara married James Korb. She was happily married to Jim for forty-two years; they lived in Wheatfield, N.Y., and then retired to Indian Trail, N.C. They enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and family. Jim died October 3, 2013.

Barbara was a Registered Nurse and homemaker. She was a strong Christian woman who lived out her faith as an example to many. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and served the Lord faithfully in each church to which she belonged. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, garage sales, and long rides in the country. She made heirloom quilts for each of her family members.

Barbara was a loving mother of her children, Karen (Keith) Poerschke of Troutman, N.C., Daniel (Debbi) Zimmerman of Arvada, Colo., and Sue (Chris) Francis of Palm Harbor, Fla.; dear Grandma of grandchildren Nathan, Amanda (Nick), Joseph, Jason (Minell), Valerie (Jared), Eric (Allison), Kyle, Marissa (Jason) and Nicole; Grandma-Great of Christopher, Gwendolyn, Theodore, and Lorenzo; and sister-in-law of Faith Goodrich and Patricia Goodrich. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in death by her siblings Jean, C. Glenn, Nelson, and John.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held August 4, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Conover, N.C., with visitation/reception with the family prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Global Down Syndrome Foundation or to the Billy Graham Evangelical Association.
