A Troutman man faces four felony charges in connection with the sexual assault of a juvenile following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Branon Wayne Bishop, 47, of Holly Springs Loop, Troutman, in a news release Wednesday.

On Sunday, June 4, the ICSO received a report regarding a juvenile who had been sexually assaulted, the sheriff said. The investigation was assigned to Special Victims Unit Detective C. James.

The juvenile was interviewed at the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center. Based on all of the evidence obtained during the investigation, Detective James obtained felony warrants charging Bishop with four counts of Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child.

The charges stem from incidents that occurred between April and June at a location in southern Iredell County, according to the news release.

Bishop was arrested on Monday. He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where ore Magistrate Imes set his bond at $300,000.
