Jackie “Jack” Dean Kitchens, 77, of Statesville, N.C., died Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Gordon Hospice House.

He was born in Lockhart, S.C., on August 27, 1945, to the late Henry Jackson Kitchens Jr., and Vernie Lee Johnson. Jack was also preceded in death by the love of his life, wife of over 25 years, Connie Sherrill Kitchens.

Jack graduated from Lockhart High School and then joined the U.S. Army. He was an avid sports fan, and he loved to play golf and sing karaoke.

Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Joey Kitchens (Becky); two daughters, Evie Henline (Todd) and Sandy Gentry; nine grandchildren, Eli, Gabriel, Samuel and Abel Kitchens, Garrett and Callie Henline, Natasha, Aimee and Vickie; a brother, Mike Kitchens; and other family members.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be announced.
