Gloria Wooten Lytton, 69, of Union Grove, N.C., passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on June 17, 1954, to Irene Peterson and James Earl Wooten.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brother, Steve Wooten.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband James (Lee) Lytton; daughter, Erin Pate (Chad); grandchildren, Joseph Pate (Jaycie), and Ethan Pate; brother, Jimmy Wooten (Brenda); sister, Mary Bryan; sister-in-laws, Donna Wooten, Nan Lytton, and Vickie Lytton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was born and raised in the small town of Stantonsburg, N.C. Gloria was a devoted Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for 27 years before retiring.

Gloria had a love for gardening, rescue animals, and her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she never missed a chance to spend time with them. She was one of a kind, with a larger than life spirit.

A private celebration of life will be held for the family at a later date.
