The Iredell County Parks & Recreation Department will conduct a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, July 28, to commemorate the beginning of work on Jennings Park.
The ceremony, which is open to the public, will take place at 141 Deitz Road at 10 a.m.
This ceremony will mark the commencement of construction on the new state-of-the-art park, which is scheduled to be completed by summer 2025.
“The Iredell County Parks & Recreation Department is very excited for this long awaited project to begin,” Parks & Recreation Director Tate Osborne said. “Once completed, Jennings Park will become a destination park for the residents of Iredell County and beyond to enjoy for years to come.
“We can’t wait to bring Jennings Park to the forefront of the discussion when Iredell County is brought up.”
The park renovations are set to include a fully inclusive playground, baseball fields, multi-purpose fields, outdoor pickleball courts, concession stands, walking trails, parking areas and more.
Stewart Engineering is the architect for the project. The construction of the park is going to be handled by Edifice General Contractors.
