Betty Jo Love Brown Moose, 88, formerly of Statesville, N.C., passed away on July 29, 2023, at Catawba Valley Medical Center after an extended illness. Betty was born May 3, 1935, in Wilkes County to the late Coy Love and Grace McDaniel Love.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Moose; one infant daughter, Elizabeth Brown; two sisters, Pansy Love and Pauline Johnson; two brothers, Howard Raymond Love and and infant Willie Thomas Love.

Survivors include one son, Steve Brown and wife Vicki Simmonds of Statesville; one sister, Mary Jane Rich and husband Ray of Wilkesboro; two grandchildren, Anna Willis and husband Gerren and Rachael Goddard and husband Chris; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Goddard and wife Cheyenne, Maddison Goddard, and Alaina, Gabriel, and Colton Willis.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, August 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery, 2446 Fishing Creek Arbor Road, Wilkesboro, NC 28697. Rev. David Welborn will officiate.

Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
