Jimmy Ray Brown, 79, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville. Born November 14, 1943, in Iredell County, he was a son of the late James and Bert Jonas Brown.

Mr. Brown was a retired lineman. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, deep sea fishing, working on cars, the beach and being with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and Roy Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Byrd Brown; children, Randy Philemon, Cindy Sahms and Freddy Philemon; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Mooresville. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
