Thomas “Tom” Shevlin, 90, passed away at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. on September 10, 2023.

Tom was born on April 28, 1933, at his birth home, 4086 Culver Road, Irondequoit, N.Y. He was the youngest of nine siblings born to the late James B. and Mary Ann Consler Shevlin.

In 1950 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Korea in 1953. After returning from Korea, he was discharged from the military. Tom was employed by General Motors Delco Products in Rochester, N.Y., as a pipefitter. After thirty-five years with General Motors, Tom retired and moved to North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife Linda of Statesville, N.C.; one daughter, Jacqueline Cerone of Fairport, N.Y.; one son, James B. Shevlin of Terrebonne, Ore.; one stepdaughter, Joelle McCauley of Virginia Beach, Va.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his fur baby, Cole.

At Tom’s request, there will be no formal services held. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 29625 or to Lake Norman Humane, 2106 Charlotte Hwy., Mooresville, NC 28117.
