Mr. Timothy Alexander Barber, 48, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on June 7, 1975, to Elizabeth Ann Teasley Young and the late John Walker Barber Sr. He departed this life on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at his residence.
Timothy was affectionately known as “Tim” by his family and friends. He attended South Iredell High School and Mitchell Community College, where he earned his Culinary Certificate. He worked as a cook in a restaurant.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife Sherika Barber of the home; his mother, Elizabeth Ann Teasley Young (Louis); one son, Zachariah Barber of the home; special children, Shyvontae Howard, Eryana Howard, Erica Thivou, and Egypt Thivou, all of Winston-Salem, NC; five brothers, Anthony Teasley of Winston-Salem, N.C., Darryl (Shon) Teasley of Durham, N.C., John (Joy) Barber of Statesville, N.C., and Patrick (Kenyada) Young of Statesville, N.C.; two sisters, Sheila Teasley (Sebastian) Roberts of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Felicia Barber of Statesville, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 6 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham, Statesville, N.C. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Bishop John Barber will be officiating the service.
