Patricia “Pat” Smith of Catawba went to be with Jesus on November 15, 2023. Pat was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She never met a child that she didn’t adopt.

Pat was born on June 29, 1936, to Mae Fowler and John Ridenhour. She was raised in Mooresville as one of seven siblings. She married her soulmate on February 16, 1957. Pat was a devout attender of local Church of God congregations while her health allowed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Ray Smith; daughter-in-law Lisa Smith; and grandchildren, Heather Ellis and Robert Tevepaugh.

She is survived by her children, Roger (Joyce) Smith, Timmy (Tracy) Smith, and Karen (Richard) Tevepaugh; her grandchildren: Katherine (Wayne) Moore, Earl (Sarah) Shrewsbury, Ryan Smith, Janna (Jim) Brown, Jessie (Chris) Baldwin, Taylor (Lewis) Overcash, Brittany (Daniel) Keller, Jeremy (Destiny) Ellis, Natalie (Logan) Ellis, Chris (Holly) Tevepaugh, and Brooklyn Tevepaugh; and 24 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. John Miles officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Heritage House.
