Gary David Shaver, 76, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House.

Gary was born on March 13, 1947, in Iredell County to the late Raymon “Bill” Alan Shaver and Daisy Millsaps Shaver. He was a graduate of Central High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. A carpenter by trade, Gary enjoyed woodworking and collecting antique tools. He and his wife, Diane Fowler Shaver, were members at Barkers Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a grandson, Alexander Price; and grandmothers, Blanche Pharr Shaver and Lena Mason Millsaps.

Along with his wife Diane, Gary is survived by his sons, Mark Shaver (Betty) and Curtis Shaver (Tammy); step-sons, Trinity Price (Christine) and Greg Price (Candace); and step-daughter, Cashawn Price. He is further survived by eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Shaver Keatley; and several nieces, nephews and close cousins.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Barkers Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Stanley and Rev. Joey Campbell will officiate. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Pallbearers will be, Mark Shaver, Curtis Shaver, Trinity Price, Greg Price, Jason McColl and Skyler Wallace.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Lori Patterson with Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County for her loving care and willingness to share Jesus with others.
