Alice Cartner Waugh, 78, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in Mocksville, N.C. She was born on June 6, 1945, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Richard Clayton Cartner and Mildred Anderson Cartner.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Bobby Ray Waugh.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis Ray Waugh (Masha) and Jessie Waugh, both of Statesville, N.C.; grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Waugh, Tara Black (Myron), and Anna Maria Waugh; great grandchildren, Tristan Black, Justyn Black, Kierstyn Waugh, Jordyn Waugh, and Kyndall Waugh; brothers, Carl Cartner (Margaret), Clinton Cartner (Beverly), and Andy Cartner (Beverley); sisters, Ann Cline, and Willa Wootton (John); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Alice graduated from Harmony High School in 1963, and was the owner of Expressions Florist in Harmony, N.C. She was a member of Clarksbury Church.

She was a former director for Matthew 25 Ministries, an organization where she served for many years, and that was very close to her heart.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Clarksbury Church. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Charles Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
