The Town of Troutman is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Town Manager.
The Town of Troutman is a friendly community with small-town charm located in Iredell County in the growing Lake Norman community just north of Charlotte. Troutman’s population is approximately 3,000; however, the Town provides select services to an additional 1,500 nearby residents. The Town has a dedicated staff of about 40 employees and a budget of $6.4 million.
The Town operates under council-manager form of government and is comprised of Mayor and five-member council. The Town Council seeks a Manager who will develop and direct growth while maintaining a high quality of life for residents. The Manager must have experience with all phases of local government management including: economic development, capital project management planning, budgeting and finance. The successful candidate must be approachable and visible in the community and possess the ability to work effectively with the Council and staff to build solid working relationships with citizens and community groups.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, planning, political science or a closely related field; five or more years of progressively responsible experience in local government administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a Master’s degree is preferred. For the purposes of Town engagement, it is strongly preferred that the Town Manager reside within the Town limits. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
