Personnel from Shepherds Fire-Rescue and the South Iredell Fire Departments conducted a live burn training on Bailey Road on Saturday. The home was donated for training by Arnulfo and Enoc Turcios, owners of Turcios Landscaping Design Inc.

Shepherds and South Iredell fire fighters conducted multiple training operations inside the structure before it was deemed unsafe and burned down under supervision.

Exercises like this provide critical training for fire fighters, who can feel the extreme heat as they navigate hose lines through an actual burning structure.
