Chery Jean Anderson, 72, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on January 30, 2024, at her home after an extended illness.

Chery was born February 21, 1951, in Catawba County to the late Robert Eugene Shook and Letha Cochran Shook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee Anderson; her daughter, Angela Jean Anderson; two brothers, Stanley Shook and Eddie Shook; and her sister, Faye Benge.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Gary Anderson and wife Janice of Statesville, and Steven Anderson and wife Shelia of Taylorsville; two brothers, Jimmy Shook of Statesville, and Ray Shook and wife Mary of Hickory; three grandchildren Samantha Anderson, Cortney Gerald and husband Matthew, and Britney Anderson; and three great-grandchildren, Gannon Gerald, Riley Gerald, and Stevie Gerald.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Iredell Memorial Gardens. There will be no formal visitation.
