Braddie Lowery, 86, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House.

He was born August 24, 1937, in Robeson County, to the late Brown Lowery and Crissie Cummings Lowery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Orvis and Delwyn Lowery; sister-in-law, Marlis Lowery; and brother-in-law, Tony VanHorn.

He was a member of West Corinth Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board, Cemetery Committee, and Property Committee and was an RA leader. He enjoyed taking care of his yard. Braddie was a member of Mooresville Masonic Lodge #496 AF&M.

Braddie is survived by his loving wife of almost 62 years, Sue Deal Lowery; children, Melynne Morrison (Rob) and Michael “Mike” Lowery (Miriam); grandchildren, Derrick Morrison (Jayme), Dana Morrison, Brooke Lowery, and Ty Lowery; great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Karlee, Jacob, and Julie Morrison; sisters, Deloris Barnett (Mason), Era Elliott (Jerry), Barbara Farmer (William), and Debra VanHorn; and brothers, Edsel Lowery (Gwen), and Calton Lowery.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, February 10, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at West Corinth Baptist Church. Services will be held at 12 noon, also at the church, with Pastor Robert Suttles officiating and special words by Tim Jones. The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
