Gov. Cooper scheduled to speak at Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting

Gov. Roy Cooper will give the opening remarks at the 2024 Statesville Area Growth and Excellence Awards and Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 15.

“We are thrilled that he has accepted our request to speak at our Annual Meeting and kick off a newly developed award program, SAGE, Statesville Area Growth and Excellence Awards, to acknowledge and honor local businesses and leaders for outstanding excellence in our business community,” said 2024 Board Chair Charles Ashe. “Having Gov. Cooper to attend this event is a real honor for our Chamber and attendees.”

During the event, which begins at 6 p.m. at the Statesville Civic Center, the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce will highlight the organization’s work in 2023 and present awards that acknowledge the excellence and achievements of the local business community and organizations.

The SAGE Awards include:

♦ Business of the Year (both large and small enterprises);
♦ Ambassador of the Year;
♦ Community Impact of the Year;
♦ Partners in Education Excellence;
♦ Innovator of the Year;
♦ Volunteer of the Year;
♦ Launch SAGE Award for New Businesses; and
♦ Leader in Advocacy
